Potable & Service Water
The treatment of service water meets problems similar to those found in drinking-water treatment. Service waters include cooling water, boiler water, condensing water, swimming-pool water and aquarium water — all effectively polished by granular activated carbon.
Odour & Vapour Control
Granular activated carbon has a wide range of uses in both gas and exhaust-air treatment applications — including purification of process gases and the removal of odour substances in kitchen exhaust hoods and industrial ventilation.
CIP / CIL / CIC
A major use of activated carbon in mining is gold recovery, where granular activated carbon (GAC) adsorbs the gold-cyanide complex in carbon-in-pulp (CIP) and carbon-in-leach (CIL) systems. High hardness and low attrition are critical for repeated elution and reactivation cycles.
Super Activated · SSA > 1000 m²/g
Super activated carbon engineered for the most demanding adsorption duties — with a powerful specific surface area (SSA > 1000 m²/g), a far-infrared emission rate of 91%, iodine number 1600–1800 mg/g and BET surface area 1600–1800 m²/g.
Vapour-Phase Filtration
When used in a filter, activated carbon selectively removes a number of vapour-phase compounds to varying degrees of efficiency. Consistent particle sizing and low dust are essential for uniform filter performance.
Purification & Decolourisation
Activated carbon is used in the pharmaceutical industry to separate and purify suspensions and to influence reaction processes — removing impurities, colour bodies and pollutants during drug manufacturing. Acid-washed low-ash grades are recommended.
